Gab23
#2310
I started this piece during cyclone Gabrielle with lots of collage, texture, tons of drippage in all directions
Next was an energetic application of acrylic paints in a circle that took up the whole canvas (to represent the cyclone), then added colours that are used on the rain radar to depict intensity of rainfall, and symbols of the elements
I wondered what I would say to the people affected…after some consideration, I felt like all I could say was BREATHE! Inhale, exhale, repeat
The auction reached $172, and the purchaser generously donated $250 which was passed on to NEW ZEALAND RED CROSS for ongoing support to the relief fund for cyclone Gabrielle
